Another hockey season is quickly approaching and the Mentor Youth Hockey Booster Club (MYHBC) is asking for your support for the upcoming hockey season. Many children ages 6-15 take part in Lake County’s only youth travel hockey program.
Mentor Hockey continues to grow strong with help from individuals and companies within our community. The Mentor Youth Hockey Booster Club continues our mission to support youth hockey and to instill the following values within our participants:

Your sponsorship contribution to our program will help supplement costs for participants and provide valuable support for special clinics and most importantly reduce fees for valuable ice time.

Please have your player bring both their black & white game jersey to try-outs. If your player does not have Mentor game jerseys please bring a dark & a light jersey. Thank you! Your player will be informed what jersey to wear at check in.
Check the fit of your players current jerseys and socks.
We will have a table set up at try-outs on Sat. 6/8, Sat. 6/15, & Sat. 6/22. You can order new jerseys and/or socks at try-outs. Arrive early, and have your player get their shoulder & elbow pads on then come out and try on jerseys. This will be the only opportunity to order jerseys this season. All players ordering new jerseys will receive home & away socks at no charge. The booster club will pick up the cost of the socks for players ordering new jerseys. If you need hockey socks anytime during the year we have Mentor Youth Hockey Socks in stock in both black and white to purchase. Please email jbacksto@aol.com (Jennifer Backston) to place your order. Socks are available in 18", 24", & 30" sizes. Cost is $15 per pair.
Mentor Youth Hockey has partnered with Top Shelf Embroidery to offer Players, Parents, Siblings, & Coaches a variety of apparel items and hockey bags. Please click HERE for the details.
We will have sizing samples available at the try-outs on Sat. 6/8, Sat. 6/15, & Sat. 6/22. We will also be collecting the order forms. Orders will be placed at the end of June for August delivery and another order in October for Christmas time delivery.

Ryan Okicki and the Lake Catholic Cougars coaching staff are proud to announce their first Youth Hockey Summer Camp at Mentor Civic Arena. This full day camp will focus on Power Skating, Skill Development, and Game Situations. Coach Okicki has been coaching in the Cleveland area for 8 years and has specialized in personal skill development for 5 years.

This season the registration will be in two parts. You will need to register for tryouts
(Include your new USA Hockey registration) and then also register the player for the
season by filling out the Player Commitment Form.
• FORM 1 - The tryout form (on page 2) is due by June 3.
• Fee is of $200 is non-refundable.
• FORM 2 - The player commitment form (page 3) to play in Mentor
• The Player Commitment Form can be turned in anytime before July 8th.
• If you commit to playing in Mentor you will notice on your player commitment form,
registration is $200.00 less this season.
• We have added a date for tryouts June 8. Players are required to attend 1 date,
but the more you attend the better look for the coaches. We urge you to attend all
sessions.

The Lake Catholic High School Hockey Team is selling mulch & other landscaping products to help raise money for their 2013-14 hockey season. Bulk deliveries available to your residence or business. Spreading of mulch by the players is available for an additional fee.

Dan Florjancic Summer Hockey Camp / Pre-Tryout CampBeginning June 10, 2013, Mentor Squirt Head Coach Dan Florjancic along with Riverside Coach Eddie Bolden and Mentor Coach Jeff Floyd will be conducting their tenth season of SUMMER HOCKEY and PRE-TRYOUT sessions at the Mentor Civic Ice Arena for kids ages 6-13. Off-ice and on-ice skating sessions will be held weekly throughout the summer on Tuesdays & Thursdays. The camp will last for a ten-week period. You can chose to do just Tuesdays or just Thursdays or both. 10 or 20 sessions total with one hour for off-ice training/conditioning and one hour for on-ice instruction each day. The objective of these summer camp sessions is to keep your skater on the ice and in shape through the off-season and to improve individual skills such as skating, puck control, body positioning, passing, and shooting.

We have been making improvements & updates to our website. Most of the Team Managers have created Google Team Calendars that we have posted to the Team Pages. When your Team Manager updates your team calendar it will automatically update on our website. Also if you would like to sync your Team Calendar to your iPhone, Android, or Blackberry device please click on the link below for instructions. This is very convenient & efficient. Your mobile device will automatically sync & update your calendar when you open it - so your team manager updates the team calendar and it is automatically updated on your device. We have also been working on getting our team pages accesible from your mobile device and widening our webpage to have a larger viewable area on your screen.
